What I'm Wearing - Lanvin Inspired

You all may have gathered by now that I loved Lanvin's Spring/Summer 2008 collection. I loved it so much in fact, that when I found out my godmother was getting married, I knew I had to get a dress similar to those in the collection.

I chose this one below in particular for my inspiration because I liked the one shoulder aspect and also because ruffles make me happy!

I had the dress made by a lady who makes my mother's clothes and this is the end result below which I wore to the wedding today.

I changed the design to suit my body which as you can see is much curvier than the model's, and I wore it with a thin black belt and black peep toe heels. The dress fits my body perfectly and the great thing about it is that it only cost BDS$45 (approx. US$22) to make! I absolutely love it!

Thanks for your comment. Is bank robbing still illegal?

AMAZING! I'm so jealous you were able to have someone make you a Lavin-esque dress, esp since it looks better than Lanvin. The color really suits you and all in all its just so fun and summery, you must have been the talk of the wedding, hehe, well other than the bride herself :)

Aw thanks Cheryl Lynn! Hehe, unfortunately so...still waiting for them to pass that bill :P

Thanks so much for your lovely comment jayne! Yeah, most of the women there wore either long spaghetti strap or halter dresses so I did look different from the other guests.

Haha Laurel, you're too sweet! Thanks! Oh, and you're welcome! You always look so great :)

Thanks daiane! I bought the belt very last minute actually but I'm glad I added it, it looked a tad plain without it :)

thank jennyh! I think alber elbaz is fantastic! Lanvin is definitely one of my faves. I can tell the jacket is very versatile, I think I'd want to wear it with pretty much anything too!

:D Thanks so much yiqin!

You look perfection, Danz!!

I love this dress, and its vibrant color. Paired with the belt it is just THE outfit for summer parties. Quite frankly, I think your version is better than the inspiration, and you are wearing it better!

I do hope the wedding was fun
