What I want right now - Striped Blazer

Ok, so here's the deal...I love blazers...and I love stripes. Put them together and I'm in total outerwear heaven. I prefer big, bold stripes that you can you can spot from a mile away but I can also appreciate the chic simplicity of subtle stripes.

I've had a thing for striped blazers for a long time but I hadn't fed my lust in a while when I stumbled on Captured Lives' blog and saw a photo of her wearing this wonderful vintage one.

That pretty much instantly reignited my desire and now I really want one again. So off I went a huntin' for striped blazers available online and I found a few of them ranging in price from under US$20 to a little over US$100.

I probably still won't be getting one any time soon but sharing with you helps me feel a tad better. Just a tad...

Lauren Ralph Lauren Petites Vertical Stripe Sweater Jacket
Price: US$126.75

I am usually apprehensive about stripes, as they can be totally un/flattering, and are rather difficult to combine with. When worn right, they can be simply amazing, though. My personal fave is the last model.

Baby Danz! How are you? I love that RL Petites blazer, so pretty. I am digging the vertical stripes, so fab. What's new with you, bb!? Any weekend plans?

Can you believe it!? Top 20? AHH! Super nuts. I've got an amazing promotions team, :) Let's start a company! Thank you, babe! xoxo

Love it. I used to have this quirky blazer by Tommy Hilfiger, but it got too small.

a kiss for you dear!

The Oasis one is super-hot. You should treat yourself! You can rationalize that a fab striped blazer never goes out of style; I have a B&W one that my mom wore in the 60s and I adopted it ten years ago and have been wearing it ever since! Big kiss, CC

I *heart* striped anything, especially pinstriped. I'm selling pinstriped suits on FB Closet!!!

ahh, the striped blaer. Very Ralph Lauren, and I LOVE Ralph Lauren! It's funny though, I don't have one right now, so I should really get!

The Ben Sherman one is really cute, although it's less versatile than others. And the price is reasonable compared to the others as well!

and I would love to link-switch with you, if that's alright. :)

Love that last one. I could use a striped blazer too.

The Ben Sherman is my favorite.

Hi Danz-yes, I love this trend too-I actually passed on one yesterday, because I had to get into the BMX shop for the boys, so didn't have time to try it on- I may go back for it though!!

Stripes and blazers, a combo I would have never thought would look good. But there you are, proving me wrong. I especially love the black and white Ralph Lauren one.

Awesome blazers, I added you to my fav links : )

Hey Ida, I'm usually more cautious when it comes to horizontal stripes as they tend to widen instead of lengthen. Like you said, when worn right, stripes can look amazing!

yiqin - haha, well I don't think they're going anywhere so you got plenty of time :)

hey laurel, I love RL one too! So classy and sexy at the same time! That would look fabulous on you hun!

Secretista - Oh I hate when that happens! There are some really cool items that I had when I was younger that I wish I could still fit into now!

I agree Kira, they're definitely very classy and cool!

hey Carrie, I should treat myself shouldn't I? Striped blazers aren't really the most versatile but you're right, they never go out of style! Lucky you having a striped jacket from your mom, it must look amazing!

hey FB, I'll check em out but somehow I doubt you'll have anything in my size hehe.

I knew you'd like these seeker! They would definitely suit your bold and fabulous style!

hey fashion addict, I know you love RL and it couldn't hurt to invest in a great blazer! You won't regret it! :)

hey closetbug, yeah the Ben Sherman is quite loud but I really like it! I wouldn't mind the lack of versatility if I still get a few really great outfits out of it! The price is definitely sweet!

margherita - I think we all could! haha!

hey enc! yeah I really like that one too :)

Oh that's so unfortunate Sharon! You must go back for it and post a picture when you do!

hey inaki, oh yeah blazers are fierce! I really love to see them on guys too!

hey goddess, the Chadwick blazer is really nice. It's more subdued than some of the others but very classy and stylish!

no problem mimi! Come back soon :)

I can definitely see you in the RL one too Silje! It would look so great on you!

Diva - no problem dear :) Come back any time!

Hey nay'chelle, I hadn't seen any striped blazers before until a few years ago when I saw a feature on them in a magazine! I was sooo hooked from then!

Thanks Diana! I added you too :)

i love striped blazers...such a great, preppy look. i like the idea of making them less buttoned-up with a men's v-neck, denim shorts and some fire gladiators.

I love the first two and the last, guess I like the bolder stripes...can't wait to find one for fall.
