A look at Caribbean Fashion Week 2008

Being that this is a blog about fashion and I'm from the Caribbean, I thought it was time that I featured some of the fashion from my neck of the woods.

Caribbean Fashion Week may not as well known as the fashion weeks of New York or Milan but this certainly doesn't mean the designers who show here are any less talented or skilled.

The Caribbean is a unique and colourful potpourri of cultures and traditions from all over the world and this is especially evident through the gorgeous, exotic collections showcased at this prestigious event.

Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW), is held annually in Kingston, Jamaica and attracts an increasing number of designers
eager to exhibit their work.

Now in its eighth year, CFW 2008 was held from June 11-16.

The womenswear collections were abundant with a diverse mixture of colours, prints and feminine silhouettes that are perfect for stylish, confident women.

Below are my favourite looks from a few of the CFW 2008 collections.

Zadd Eastman

Keneea Linton

Lamaica

Meiling

Sushma Patel

Lubica

Mutamba

Ndjamena Caprice

5th Element

African Connection

Gavin Douglas

Of course, Caribbean Fashion Week collections would not be complete without swimwear.

Rachel Lym
